Shalom to Our Friends

The first edition of this, my first blog, was dedicated to my fellow travelers in Israel. I had wished to make the trip, but it was not possible. So I traveled vicariously through the itinerary for my friends who were able to go. They returned safely to True Memorial Baptist Church in Rochester, to other areas in New England and parts South. For them, this was perhaps a dream fulfilled and now lives on in their hearts forever. For us, the dream remains, and perhaps will yet be fulfilled.

Mt. Zion

Dear Readers - Our friends who went to Israel have returned with memories and longings. I close this post, long overdue, with the words of Dr. Jim Critchlow from Sunday School this morning. We were asked to introduce ourselves to each other by giving our name and the name of a place that we wished was our home town. He gave the closing comment, and longed to be found in Mt. Zion. Maybe there are others who made the trip who long to return.

"For the LORD will have compassion on Jacob and will again choose Israel,
and will set them in their own land, and sojourners will join them and will
attach themselves to the house of Jacob. And the peoples will take them
and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them in the
LORD's land... " (Isaiah 14:1-2)
